    During the summer, be sure to add the Clive Running Festival and Clive Fest to your calendar.  The Clive Running Festival is a festival for runners of all ages and abilities that features a 5K, 10K, mile run and tadpole trot.  Just around the corner from the Running Festival is Clive Fest, ranked one of the best community festivals in the Des Moines Metro area. Each year, Clive Fest features a schedule packed with activities for both kids and adults to provide a well rounded event for the entire Clive community.

    The Clive Running Festival and Clive Fest aren't the only things going on in Clive throughout the year.  Every day of the week, you can find fun events, music and activities in and around Clive to keep you busy!

    For the running enthusiast, cycling devotee or quiet stroller, Clive provides multiple access points to the Greenbelt trail.  A part of the Central Iowa Trails network, this 11 mile trail connects to other trail systems that lead you throughout the Des Moines metro area and further. 

    When the weather gets hot, head over to the Clive Aquatics Center where you can shoot down water slides, lounge in lazy river or work those arms in the lap lanes.  The Clive Aquatics Center also offers Swim-n-Show Fridays, where you can enjoy fun in pool and then watch a movie under the stars, as well as the Pooch Plunge, where your four-legged friend can join you for a day at the pool!

  • Urbandale Iowa

    Urbandale, Iowa is more than a city. It is a modern suburb that has not forgotten its small-town charm and is known for safe streets and neighborhoods, rich parks and recreational trails, and business opportunities and places to work.

  • West Des Moines Iowa

    From its inception, the City of West Des Moines has endeavored to provide the best possible services to its citizens. The City has been recognized by several national publications and a metro-wide publication as a great place to live and conduct business. It has grown from an 1893 railroad town known as Valley Junction with a population of 500 to a hub of commerce and premier living.

    Throughout the year, citizens and visitors to West Des Moines can treat themselves to activities that meet every taste and lifestyle. West Des Moines offers a plethora of exciting and varied shopping options that includes Valley Junction where local shops line a history downtown street. If you’re looking for something a little more modern, the Jordan Creek Town Center features national and local brands every shopper will enjoy. West Glen Town Center combines the best of both worlds with a variety of shops, fitness centers, restaurants and loft style apartments.

    If spending time outside is what you’re looking for, West Des Moines has over 1200 acres of parks and open spaces, which includes the 632 acre Raccoon River Park. The park, located in the southeast part of the city, is the "crown jewel" of West Des Moines and offers ample swimming, fishing, boating, biking and picnicking activities for visitors.     West Des Moines is also home to a variety of events during the year. Starting in May, A-May-Zing Days is the community’s biggest celebration ever with events and activities spread across all corners of the city throughout the entire month of May like Festivale Cinco de Mayo, farmers markets, Music in the Junction, the Principal Charity Golf Classic, The Spring Art Market and others. Illumnifest is held in September and is a fall festival of lights that features paper lantern lightings, carnival rides, food, drinks and live music. The Valley Junction Farmers Market features over 100 vendors and generally runs May through the end of September/early October. Here you can enjoy music, purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables, sample area wines and enjoy delicious home baked goods.
